The truck has progressed this week. As it started out wet the internal electrics got focused on - we now have the 240v inlet along with the integrated battery charger, dual sockets for external power and internal (inverter) power, the fridge freezer working, the bedroom aircon working, a 12v power supply, the start of the lighting circuit and even an entrance courtesy light. The battery charger and microwave work well when plugged into the generator - so that's a risk out of the way. I now know where I'm going to fit both the inverter to give us 240v from the batteries and the special split-charge system that will make sure that the truck's starter batteries always get 1st call on any power coming from the alternator.
The main water tank was made slightly wrong, but it's now fitted and sits snugly inside its box, so the plumbing has started with the pump which sits on a tray under the fridge. I'm going to plumb the entire system without the water filter to make sure that it all works ok, this will buy me some time to decide exactly which filter to fit.
As space is going to be important, it was pleasing to compare Sue's collection of kitchen "essentials" with the draws that I installed last week - it looks like we're going to only fill 1 out of 3 - this means we can take more spares?! Or will that be hats?!
The last 2 days have been devoted to yet more woodwork - cutting up hugely expensive sheets of special plywood to form the wetroom front/door, laminating formica onto them, relaminating it because the glue didn't take etc etc.... So far this project has consumed (as in killed) 2 jigsaws, an electric screwdriver and one router. Luckily I've managed to exchange all of them so far - but soon the returns counters are going to start recognising me!
I'm off in the morning to get the third jigsaw!
