The original plan was to have left early October to allow us time to get through Sudan before it gets too hot. We are now a month later and still not ready - the truck has progressed in that most of the hot water system, heating and electrics are installed. This was always going to be a race against time ever since we had the first problems with the roof of the box - we've now had to bite the bullet and make the hard decision to postpone departure until next summer. This will give us the time to get the truck not only completed but also tested.
We now need to do some damage limitation financially (ie find jobs!) - so we're both looking for contract work to bide us over.
On a more positive note we decided to take a break from everything and headed off to North Yorkshire last week to a cottage on the moors - absolutely brilliant - and the weather in November was surprisingly good.
